State of Play — February 2025
Sony's February show leaned into the new and the curious. Housemarque's Saros got its reveal, Lies of P: Overture brought the DLC, and Days Gone landed a remaster nobody quite asked for. Hell is Us and Tides of Annihilation filled things out. Here's the rundown.

Saros
Housemarque’s next game, Saros, is coming to PS5 in 2026. A reportedly fast-paced, roguelite shooter, each death alters the world while unlocking new upgrades. While it shares Returnal’s DNA, it introduces fresh mechanics and a new setting. Looks rad.
Tides of Annihilation
Tides of Annihilation is a cinematic, narrative action-adventure with fast-paced combat, set in a modern city overrun by otherworldly forces. Summon allies and take on bosses - sweet, could be cool.
Days Gone Remastered
Huh, cool. Days Gone Remastered arrives on PS5 on April 25, 2025, with VRR and PS5 Pro support, permadeath and speedrun modes, among other things. PS4 owners can upgrade for $10USD.
Lies of P: Overture
Letsgooo! Lies of P: Overture is a prequel to the 2023 soulslike, diving into the origins of the Puppet Frenzy. With similarly punishing combat and rich lore, get a deeper look at Krat’s hidden stories and the events leading up to the basegame.
Metal Eden
Metal Eden is a high-speed sci-fi FPS launching on PS5 on May 6, 2025. It features "Core Ripping", letting players use a Gravity Beam to tear cores from enemies - either launching them as explosives or absorbing them for buffs to melee, mobility, and survival.
Dreams of Another
Dreams of Another from PixelJunk arrives on PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025. Set in a surreal dreamscape, it’s a creative shooter where 'destruction fuels creation', blending artistic exploration with intriguing mechanics. Looks neat.
Darwin's Paradox!
The story-driven action-platformer Darwin's Paradox! puts players in the role of an octopus; climbing, camouflaging, and ink-attacking. Combined with immersive use of DualSense feedback, could be a cool experience.
Hell is Us
Hell is Us has a release date - September 4. It's a third-person action-adventure set in a war-torn land plagued by supernatural threats. No maps or quest markers, just a drone and an ancient sword. Looks cool.
