The Game Awards — 2024
The big one this year was The Witcher IV's reveal, with Elden Ring: Nightreign and Naughty Dog's Intergalactic close behind. Slay the Spire 2 and REMATCH were the pleasant surprises. Here's what stood out.

Thick as Thieves
Thick as Thieves is a first-person PvPvE stealth-action game from Warren Spector and Paul Neurath, creators of Thief and Deus Ex. Set in an alternate 1910s with advanced tech and magic, it adds multiplayer to the immersive stealth genre amid wealth disparities. Interesting.
REMATCH
Well this was unexpected. Check out the reveal trailer for REMATCH, the online football game from Sloclap (Sifu, Absolver). Set in vibrant arenas with no fouls or offsides, you control one player, switching roles from striker to defender to a unique goalkeeper with special abilities.
The Witcher IV
The Witcher IV has been officially revealed in a cinematic trailer. In this new saga, "Ciri takes centre stage as the protagonist, embarking on her own journey to become a professional monster slayer."
Elden Ring: Neightreign
FromSoftware and Bandai Namco reveal Elden Ring: Neightreign, a standalone multiplayer co-op survival game (???). Team up in Limveld to survive a three-day cycle, fight bosses, and eventually face the Nightlord. With "unique heroes, evolving maps, and relic upgrades, every run is a new challenge". Elden Ring co-op roguelike? I need it now, please.
Project Robot
Fumito Ueda (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) has revealed his next project, codename Project Robot! Backed by Epic Games, but other details are scarce - judging by the trailer, we can expect his signature style of mystery and awe.
The Outer Worlds 2
The Outer Worlds 2 has been announced via gameplay trailer. Explore a new colony, team up with a fresh crew, and get set for adventure. Launching in 2025.
Borderlands 4
Borderlands 4 brings the series to the planet Kairos, featuring four new Vault Hunters, co-op for up to four players, the series' signature looter-shooter gameplay and wAcKinEsS. Coming in 2025.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a new sci-fi game for PS5. Play as Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria, a planet isolated for centuries. Featuring a score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, "survive and attempt the first escape in over 600 years". Looks super cool.
